Dry season: May, June, September
The sweet spot. May and June sit before the European summer rush; September is just after. Daytime 27–30°C, humidity manageable, and rain is rare. Our Bali Unhurried package is popular in this window.
Peak: July, August, December
It's dry but packed. Beach clubs book out, traffic in Canggu is real, and villa rates double. If you want Uluwatu at sunset without a crowd, sunrise visits are the workaround.
Shoulder: April, October, November
Still mostly dry with occasional afternoon showers. Lower rates, fewer people. We think October is the best-value month of the year.
Wet season: January to March
Consistent daily rain — usually afternoon thunderstorms, not all-day downpours. Upside: lush rice terraces, quiet restaurants, and deals. Downside: fewer beach days. Not ideal for a first-time Bali visit.
Event-based timing
- Nyepi (Balinese Day of Silence) — usually March. The island literally shuts for 24 hours. Powerful if planned; disastrous if not.
- Galungan — occurs every 210 days; villages are decorated with penjors.
- Bali Arts Festival — mid-June to mid-July in Denpasar.
