Day 1 — Landing, rain
It rains in Bali more often than Instagram admits. We arrived to a downpour. The driver had hot ginger tea ready. By evening, we were watching it lift over the Tegalalang terraces from the villa deck.
Day 2 — Rice at 5:30 AM
The terraces at sunrise feel like religion. We were alone for an hour before the first tour buses arrived.
Day 3 — Cooking class
Paon Ubud. Picked basil from a garden, made sambal matah, learned how not to fear a wok. Our tutor was 19.
Day 4 — Transition south
The drive to Uluwatu is fast on the new toll. Four hours turned into two. Checked into a cliff-view room with a pool. Watched the sunset from bed.
Day 5 — Padang Padang
Small beach, steep steps. Surfers everywhere. We found a corner and stayed four hours.
Day 6 — Single Fin
Sunset at Single Fin is a thing. Unfiltered orange, reggae, one clean beer. If there's a "Bali moment," this is it.
Day 7 — Departure
Long brunch, no ceremony. Back.
