Portals win when
- You know exactly what you want.
- Price is the only variable.
- It's a short trip to a well-trodden destination.
Use MakeMyTrip, Booking.com, or airline direct.
Specialists win when
- The brief is open ("honeymoon, somewhere warm, December").
- Multiple destinations combined.
- Complicated family (ages, mobility, preferences).
- Off-beat destinations (Ladakh, Bhutan, Spiti).
- First-time abroad and you want someone to call.
- You value the ability to WhatsApp someone during the trip.
- You don't enjoy planning.
How to pick a specialist
- Look for an actual physical office (we have three).
- Ask who owns the itinerary — a specific person, not a call centre.
- Ask for references from past travellers to your destination.
- Look for sample itineraries that read like editorial, not tour lists.
- Ensure they offer a transparent payment flow (Razorpay or equivalent).
Red flags
- "Packaged tours at best rates."
- No clear cancellation policy.
- Price is the whole pitch.
- Office address suspicious or missing.
